about

‘Sailboat’ is about finding clarity in times of darkness. realising whats really important. ‘Deep in the forest, i’m like a dark tourist, i’m searching for more clarity’. Sailboat follows the story of a relationship between two people thats grown tired and weary by life's challenges. Upon taking a break and taking a step back it becomes obvious one cant live without the other but accepts fate and accepts the future. The song explores hopelessness, heartbreak but at its core a wanting to escape.

lyrics

Here without you,
I'm blind from the light that shines through,
An overwhelming reality,
Deep in the forest,
I'm lost like a dark tourist,
I'm searching for my clarity,

I'll tally my nights on my bedroom wall,
Like i'm ill with a sickness in a hospital ward,
Been searching for something to switch me back on,
But i've already found it, its been you all along,

Hey Hey
Treasure you the most,
Take off my clothes,
And build a sailboat,
Uh huh,
So steady as she blows,
And if she goes,
I'll learn to float yeah,

Feel so shaky,
So tight and flakey,
You've sewn me back together now,
Dark in my heart,
Where you stay in a room i made for you,
You make it a beat a better sound,

I'll paint your favourite colour on the wall,
I'll fill in the cracks and i'll plug in the holes,
Aint no way this baby will sink,
Even if it does i'll be with you on the brink,

Hey Hey
Treasure you the most,
Take off my clothes,
And build a sailboat,
Uh huh,
So steady as she blows,
And if she goes,
I'll learn to float yeah,

I'll fold my clothes up neatly,
And then i'll watch them burn,
I try to talk politely,
So no ones heads will turn,
I don't wanna be me,
All i wanna be is with you,
You make it seem so easy,
To see this world was built for two,

Hey Hey
Treasure you the most,
Take off my clothes,
And build a sailboat,
Uh huh,
So steady as she blows,
And if she goes,
I'll learn to float yeah,
