about

Exploring elements of hopelessness, confusion, and acceptance of the things we cannot change, ‘Rubber For Cars’ is a conscious effort to be more aware of what surrounds us…

“Simply being stuck inside made me start writing about people in the block of flats I live in and those who are close. It brought to attention the daily struggles people face yet remain unseen…what people hide and keep secret in their small daily tasks. Accepting our demons and learning to love and deal with the insecurities and inconveniences in our own special little ways”.

“However hopeless and bleak this whole situation may seem, there is a feeling of light at the end of tunnel; ‘like flowers we still bloom’, a succinct reminder that we are all beholden to the natural swings of life, and all in our own ways fated to overcome its peaks and falls.”

lyrics

The Lady below me she's sleeping,
Next to her drying clothes,
Her eyes still wet from when she was weeping,
God Knows what i'd do,
If she came crying her woes,

If it was ma, i'd come rushing,
Raised me from my brain to my bones,
Never did much hugging or touching,
She knows I love her,
With everything that I own,

The man upstairs, yeah he's always working,
Making rubber for cars,
His brain it aches from the constant yearning,
All that he wants,
Is to see his kids in the yard,

My big sister, yeah she's be cursing,
That we all seem far apart,
I like to think its more of a blessing,
All I do is haunt,
Like somebody with no heart,

Oh my girl tonight you are gorgeous,
I really miss the things that we do,
You shiver and you shake just like sawdust,
If you set the groove,
Then baby i'll make the move,

Why does no one seem to love us?
Why don't they aim and shoot?
Everything it seems so unrighteous,
No trust or no love,
But like flowers we still bloom,
